All students at Thurston Community College have access to a Google Workspace account, which is essentially their 'digital pencil case'. This provides them with access to College email, word processing and a large number of other tools to help them stay organised, complete school work and prepare them for the future.
Students will use Google Classroom on a day to day basis, as this is where home study assignments are set. Support with the platform is available to students at https://sites.google.com/thurstoncollege.org/digitallearning. Please note that this site can only be accessed once students have signed into their College Google Workspace account.
Parents can receive regular email updates on their child's home study assignments thanks to Google Classroom Email Summaries For Guardians.

Which device should I buy for my child?
If you are looking to purchase a device for your child to use in order to assist them with completing school work and home study, we would recommend a Chromebook as this fits hand in hand with the Google Workspace ecosystem. However, the Google Workspace apps will work on most devices with a web browser (i.e. Windows or Mac based computer). There are also bespoke apps available for Apple/Android phones and tablets, although a laptop or desktop with a minimum 13 inch screen is best suited to completing school work.
