As you heard in this today's assembly, High Performance isn't about always getting the highest grades and comparing yourself to your peers. High Performance (in the words of Phil Neville) is
"DO THE BEST YOU CAN, WHEREVER YOU ARE, WITH WHAT YOU HAVE GOT".
This was the thought that I left you with at the end of the assembly and one which I hope you can take with you into your mocks next week.
This approach can be applied to any and every aspect of your life, whether it is tidying your room or brushing your teeth or giving your all in a lesson. You just have to do the best that you can do.
Chrissie Wellington OBE is a former British Professional triathlete and four-time Ironman Triathlon World Champion. As a child her dad told her her to 'seize every opportunity and make a mark on the world for all the right reasons.' Her mantra for High Performance is to 'Bring your best self to every moment, be willing to learn and act with integrity.'
We are not expecting everyone to be world class athletes, that's not what this is all about, but by adopting this way of thinking and acting we can all deliver our own high performance: wherever we are, with what we have got.
